About
I have a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Mary Ward Centre in London, and a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from the Northern Guild in Newcastle. I’m a fully Registered and Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I have 15 years experience working as an Integrative psychotherapist in a wide variety of settings including the NHS, GP surgeries, addiction services, third sector organisations, charities and private practice.
I have worked as a professional facilitator for groups, and have provided teaching at university level for counselling students. I also provide Integrative supervision to practicing counsellors, and offer couple therapy to a small number of clients.
I was a Registered Nurse within the NHS for 15 years prior to training as a counsellor, and have an MSc in a Public Health discipline. Both these experiences have supported me in my work as a therapist, as I have a deeper understanding of our bodily systems and how this is adversely affected by trauma and stress from a neurobiological perspective (mind/body connection).
I’m based in the Highlands of Scotland and I work remotely which allows me to provide online therapy to individuals and couples who are based across the UK and overseas. This enriches my experience as a therapist, and provides me with further insights into different cultures and lifestyles.
I can engage with any issue that you bring, but I have a particular interest in the following areas:
-
Transactional Analysis
-
Transpersonal Psychotherapy
-
Internal Family Systems
-
Couple therapy
-
Neuro-diversity - Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia
